Shpot (n.) — West Cork. A place worth being in.
"Some shpot" is about the highest praise you'll get out of an Irish person, and it's usually said quietly, looking at the view, after a long pause. That's the whole idea behind this shop.
What we're building
An Irish home brand for people who don't want the tourist-shop version of Ireland. No leprechauns, no Celtic knotwork, no green-and-orange anything. Just good things for the gaff, chosen or made the way you'd choose them for your own place.
We've started with prints, because that's what we make ourselves. The Slang Series takes Hiberno-English words nobody can quite define and sets them like dictionary entries, straight-faced. As Gaeilge is old proverbs on hand-painted stripes. Cúpla Focal is the few words of Irish everyone has, hand-lettered on a chalky ground.
From there it grows into the rest of the house — the kind of homeware you'd actually want to live with, held to the same test: would it look right in an Irish home that has some taste about it?
How it works
Prints are drawn here in West Cork and made to order. Everything ships from inside the EU, so nothing sits in a warehouse and nothing crosses a customs border to reach you. Framed options arrive ready to hang.
