Refund policy

We want you happy with what arrives. If you are not, here is exactly where you stand.

Your 14 day right to change your mind

If you are buying as a consumer in Ireland or the EU, you can cancel your order within 14 days of the day you, or someone you nominate, receive the goods. You do not have to give a reason. This is your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

To cancel, email hello@shpot.ie with your order number before the 14 days are up. A clear statement that you are cancelling is enough. We will reply with the return address and instructions. You then have a further 14 days from telling us to send the goods back.

What we refund

We refund the price you paid for the goods, plus the standard delivery charge you paid to receive them. If you chose a faster or more expensive delivery option, we refund the standard rate.

We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back, or of you giving us proof that you have sent them, whichever comes first. The money goes back to the payment method you used.

Return postage

Return postage is paid by you, unless the item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, in which case we cover it. Keep your proof of postage. Until the parcel reaches us it is your responsibility, so for anything valuable we would use a tracked service.

Condition

Send items back in the condition they arrived in, with their packaging and any tags. You are welcome to handle and inspect a thing the way you would in a shop. If it comes back damaged or used beyond that, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.

Faulty, damaged or not as described

Separately from the 14 day cancellation right, you have legal rights if goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 you can reject faulty goods within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, and after that you can ask for a repair, a replacement, a price reduction or a refund. Email hello@shpot.ie with your order number and a photograph and we will sort it out.

Where our goods come from

Our prints are printed and posted for us inside the EU, and some of our homeware is made and shipped by the brand that makes it. That means a parcel may arrive in the maker's packaging, and a return may go back to their address rather than to us. Always email us first and we will send you the right address. Please do not post anything back before you hear from us, or we cannot match it to your order.

Made to order pieces

Some of our homeware is made to order in small batches, and our prints are printed to order. This does not affect your 14 day cancellation right, because none of it is personalised to you. If we ever sell something made to your own specification, with your own words or a name you choose, we will say so plainly on the product page and explain what it means for cancelling.

If we cannot sort it out between us

You can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at ccpc.ie. If you are buying from another EU country, the European Consumer Centre Ireland at eccireland.ie can help.
